A Sex Education policy has been developed in consultation with students and parents. It has been agreed by the Governors of the school and is available in the policy section of the website. Sex Education is included in the Personal, Social & Health Education programme. It is set within the context of wider personal relationships and family life. In the upper school students are given support to explore decision making, choice and risk and the programme includes work on HIV/AIDS/Contraception. Basic anatomy and the physiology of sexual reproduction are also parts of the Science programmes of study. Outside agencies, with specialist knowledge, are invited into the school at appropriate times.
