On Friday 2nd February we held a farewell event for our visiting Chinese students and staff. They had enjoyed a week with their English buddies, joining them for all of their lessons and had the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the English education system. It was a pleasure to see our students support our visitors over the week, they all did a super job in making them feel welcome. Well done everyone!
A note to students signed-up to do Go Karting and Laser Tag on Activity Day that we have revised the timings of the visit. The coach will now depart at 7am, returning at the planned time of 3:15pm
Continuing with Safer February, PC Chris Baker is delivering sessions to Year 7 about the dangers of carrying weapons, gangs and social media. We've also had the K9 dogs visit who help to ensure our school is free from any illegal substances.

We began our 'Safer February' campaign with an anti-violence and anti-knife presentation from Alison Cope. Alison is the mother of Joshua Ribera who was stabbed to death in 2013. She now visits schools across the country to share her powerful and thought provoking message, giving information around what we share on social media, its potential impacts and the importance of making good choices and surrounding yourself with good people. Today's assemblies delivered a lasting message of the importance of showing kindness and taking the time to show how important our loved ones are to us.
For more information about Alison and her campaign visit www.AlisonCope.com and if you feel your child requires further support please do get in touch
