KSCS JIGSAW
Ken Stimpson is based in Werrington and has 1000+ students on roll. Jigsaw is an umbrella term we use for the specialist provision supporting students who are on the autism specturm. We began welcoming students to our Autism Hub (Jigsaw) in January 2020. These students have a diagnosis of autism and an Education, Health and Care Plan. We have capacity for 6 students in the hub across the year groups and key stages. These places are allocated via the SEND Panel. In addition to the hub spaces, Jigsaw also supports other students across the school, tailoring to individual needs.
In addition to our hub placements, we also personalised and targetted support to students who may require it. We also support the general SEND provision given across the school outside of the Jigsaw provision along with staff training to create a cohesive and inclusive environment for our students.
Levels of Support
If your child does not meet the above criteria for our specialist unit, this doesn't mean they can't be supported by our Jigsaw provision in other ways. We offer an increasing level of support that we use to tailor our provision on an individual basis. This can ranged from supporting teachers in the classroom with quality first teaching, to more longer term intervention. This is outlined below:
