Media

At Ken Stimpson Academy, students study the AQA GCSE Media Studies specification. This consists of 18 close study products which students will have to analyse using the media framework in their exam. The framework is made up of 4 media concepts - Representation, Audience, Industries and Language. They will also be taught key media theory which they will have to apply to the studied texts.

There is also a coursework component which requires students to create their own statement of intent and magazine product. This is worth 30% of the GCSE whilst the other 70% consists of exam content.
