Message from the Principal - Public Examinations
Our formal examination season started this week with the GCSE English Examination on Tuesday.
A huge amount of effort and support have gone into the preparation for these important exams from both students and staff. I would like to wish everybody involved the very best of luck and to remind our students that success does not come about by magic but as a result of hard work. Keep going and aim to finish the examination season knowing that you could not have worked any harder! I look forward to sharing the students’ achievements with them in August. Best wishes Richard Lord Year 9 Work Experience
We have not received all responses regarding the work experience opt in for Year 9 students. We have planned for this to take place in May 2017, when your son/daughter is the latter stages of their Year 10 provision. Please return your response or students may not be allocated places, and may not have the opportunity to select a placement suited to their interests.
To plan this we need to know as soon as possible if you, as a parent/carer, will give permission for your son/daughter to take part in work experience and are willing to pay for the cost of £50 to secure a work experience placement. Please ensure you reply by Friday 13 May using the reply slip attached to the letters recently sent out. Mr Billitt Parents' Forum
I would like to invite you to the next Parents’ Forum meeting on Monday 9 May from 6.00 p.m. until 7.15 p.m. in the school’s Conference Room.
The forum provides an opportunity for parents to meet with senior staff, to comment on their impressions of the quality of education provided, to make suggestions for improvement and to comment upon proposed changes within school. We are also keen to showcase particular curriculum areas or initiatives. At this forum there will be a presentation about the latest work of the school's Teaching and Learning Group. It would be helpful if you would send a brief note, telephone message (01733 383658) or email (forum@kscs.org.uk) to Mrs Ware, my PA, at school, to let us know if you plan to come along to this meeting and, if so, if there are particular questions that you would like to raise. Richard Lord Attendance
Success stills holds onto the lead this week. However, all Houses had a slight decrease in attendance, we need to maintain this for our 96% target. Don't forget that:
