Operation Contact Details – URGENT RESPONSE REQUIRED!!

Given the seriousness of this issue, I have dedicated this week’s newsletter to highlighting the significant concerns about being able to get in contact with you as parents and named contacts. There will always be a very good reason for contacting you during the school day.  This may include:

  • An emergency illness or medical issue which we require your support with, or
  • A need to contact you to gain permission for a specific issue

Over the last half term we have faced increased difficulty reaching the main point of contact, or even any of the named contacts, for a growing number of students. This is a major concern in ensuring there is always someone available if there is an emergency or key information that needs to be shared.  Please be aware that you are the parent/carers with parental responsibility and we act in “loco- parentis”.  In the event of an emergency I am sure that you would want to be informed asap. At the moment we are finding contact numbers/ email addresses that are inaccurate because we have not been informed of a change in details.

I realise this may be due to strict policies at your place of work; you may not be able to answer your phone/voicemail/text.  So we urge you to provide us with the contact information of a person within your extended family with parental responsibility so that they can answer the phone without these barriers.

This is vital and without apology. To legally obtain any updates you will receive an email asking you to check and, if necessary, update your contact details.

The instructions are explained below; I urge you to spend a few moments in checking the contact details we have for you are correct for the well-being of your child/children.
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring we are always able to get in touch.

Community Arts Evening and Art Exhibition 2019 – Friday 28 June
Next Friday (28 June) we are proud to be presenting our fifth annual “Community Arts Evening” in the assembly hall.

This is our annual celebration of the arts in the school as well as in the wider community and where we welcome in local community groups to perform alongside our school pieces.

This year the programme will feature local Community Groups including “Take Note Community Choir”, “Peterborough Community Orchestra”, “Ken Stimpson Community Choir” and “Encore Dance Academy” alongside our own choir and acapella group, plus dance students and scenes from “The 39 Steps” will also be performed by year 10 GCSE Drama students. There will also be a chance to see a ‘sneak preview’ of our forthcoming production of “The Wizard of Oz”.

Doors open at 6.30pm with the performance commencing at 7.00pm. Tickets are available on the door or in advance via our online booking system at www.ticketsource.co.uk/kscs - Priced £5.00 each.

As in previous years we are also pleased to be able to work with the school Art faculty, who will be presenting their annual art exhibition in advance of the performance. This will be available for viewing from 5.30pm in the Assembly Hall area.

We look forward to seeing everyone next week.
