Message from the Principal
Outcomes, speak louder than words! If this is your first newsletter then, not only I but all the staff at Ken Stimpson Community School, welcome you. This week, I have decided to share the ongoing success of the school academic results through the info-graphic below. I believe that it is our students that make this school SO special. KSCS is a ‘truly comprehensive’ school and we should celebrate this fact. We have students from all walks of life and with the full range of abilities, skills, talents and experiences. The results and progress we make stand out and it is down to a strong partnership between the school, students and yourselves.
Finally, I wish to welcome the new staff to the school. I am delighted to enrich our already excellent staff, who gain very credible results year on year at both GCSE and A level, not just locally but against many thousands of other schools.
Best wishes Bryan Erwin Kamal Hyman Motivational Workshop
Wednesday saw the first session in a six week series of Motivational Workshops delivered to some of our Year 9 students. The 'Aim A Little Higher' Programme is the brainchild of Kamal Hyman, one of the UK's youngest professional speakers. He was accompanied by his colleague Souleyman Bah, a former Junior Paralympic gold medallist. Students took part in various activities which will help them grow in confidence and raise aspirations. The session was a lot of fun due to Kamal's dynamic, interactive and inspiring style which engaged our students throughout. Sessions will continue once a week for the next five weeks. Kamal hopes that the students will increase their level of self-awareness and learn to love who they are over the next six weeks! Miss Kingston Rewards
This week all students have had an assembly delivered to explain our new Rewards System here at Ken Stimpson. Students will be working hard to achieve either a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award each half term. All staff at Ken Stimpson will be awarding connect points to acknowledge the success, achievement and effort made by students not only in lessons but around the school, at break-times, extra-curricular and out of school activities.
