To all who have been offered a placement at our school for September 2025 Welcome to Ken Stimpson Academy!

Please ring our reception team on 01733 765950 to accept your place.

The staff and governors of Ken Stimpson Academy are very pleased to welcome Year 6 to our school community.

We realise that moving on to secondary school can be both an exciting and daunting time for all concerned, but we hope we can work with you to make the process as seamless as possible.  We will send out further information about the school in the coming months.

We look forward to meeting both you and your child soon.

Today, we were honoured to welcome DCI 1860 Amerjit Singh QPM, a former Ken Stimpson student, to our school.

Amerjit, awarded the Queen's Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2018, is an inspiration and now one of the highest-ranking Asian officers in the police force. He shared his journey with our students, his reasons for joining the police, discussed diversity, overcoming adversity, and the impact his work has had on others.

We thank him for his time today.

This week we have welcomed professionals from across the city who have supported our Year 11's with mock interview practice. This allows students to learn how to answer difficult questions, develop interview strategies and improve their communication skills.

The interviews are just one of the things happening as part of National Apprenticeship week in school this week. Students have also been taking part in work place visits, visiting apprenticeship fairs and participating in tutor time quizzes.

We would like to thank the following companies for giving up their time, including ARU Peterborough, HMPO, Network Rail, Skanska, First Intuition, URBN distribution centre. DWP, Cross Key Homes, Viridor, Anglian Water & News UK.

It is always a pleasure to end the school day with a meeting of Book Club. It is a reminder that there of pockets of time in our busy lives where we can find rest and relaxation in a positive, meaningful way.

A reminder that our new slot is the last Thursday of every month. New books are given out and the previous book returned and discussed. Our new book for this month is A Kind of Spark by Elle McNicoll. There are spare books available if you were unable to attend the meeting.

On Monday we were privileged to host Anthony Bennett, an international speaker who inspires audiences globally. Anthony took students through his journey, from his life-threatening battle with a number of infections as a teenager, to helping to secure a £7.5m partnership between Whitbread PLC and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.

He motivated students to think about the choices they make and to make the most of every opportunity that comes their way, giving examples of how he's shown resilience through adversity and providing tools to allow them to do the same.
