Our Year 9 Hospitality and Catering students treated staff to an amazing day of tea parties this festive season! As part of their Level 1/2 Technical Award they were tasked with researching the origins and history of Afternoon Tea, practised the skills needed to make the dishes, chose a theme and catered the events. Highlights included some extremely delicious prehistoric biscuits accompanied by dinosaur serving staff!
Examination Certificates for Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 Class of '24 will be available for collection from 3:15pm-4:30pm on Monday, 16th December 2024 in the main reception.
These are important certificates as employers often ask to see them so please do try to arrange collection if at all possible as getting copies from exam boards at a later date can become costly.
If you would like someone to collect your certificate on your behalf please email exams [at] kenstimpson.org.uk to give your authorisation - the nominated person will need to show ID upon collection.
If you are unable to collect your certificate on this date, collection will be available in the Spring Term (from 7th January 2025) by prior appointment - please email exams [at] kenstimpson.org.uk to arrange collection.

Earlier this term we had a fantastic time hosting the Illuminate tour! Thank you to Saintz for the amazing music and inspiring message about self-esteem and bullying and for Kingsgate Church for bringing this event to our school.
We're taking part in Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 12th December 2024!
On Tuesday, 12th November, students in Post-16 experienced a university drop-in session with Jade, a representative from Anglia Ruskin University. During the session, students discussed their aspirations for the future, university life, and financing their studies, as well as receiving information for writing effective CVs and Personal Statements. After the group drop-in, Jade provided each student with one-to-one meetings on their requested topic, providing them with a fantastic opportunity to receive tailored advice, support with the application process, and to learn more about higher education.

Last week's Head Teacher's commendations was full of praise and positivity about our nominated students. From students completing additional work to supplement their studies, to a student who helped a fellow student after a fall we couldn't be prouder of them.
Well done to each and every one of you for your achievements and kindness!
On Wednesday 20th November, Year 13 Politics students were given the opportunity to put questions to two former members of the US Congress - Cheri Bustos and Bob Dold. The US Politicians were grilled on topics such as life as a US Congressman and their views of new President-Elect Donald Trump, with the candid responses providing a valuable insight for our students!

ClassCharts is currently experiencing a technical problem which is causing the site to be very slow/unavailable. We are aware that this has been affecting staff, students and parents/carers for most of the day and we are unsure at this time when it will be resolved. As soon as the company gives us an update we will let you know.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Amir Walji.
A great servant to education and one of the most committed teachers you could ever meet, Amir was the epitome of integrity and was held in the highest respect.
We have lost a brilliant teacher, a great colleague and a good friend.
Please see our website for a letter from the Headteacher, Mr D Whales
