Message from the Principal
Wow, amazing and spectacular!
These three words sum up the events that students have experienced this week. Over the last few days, the Pop Up Science event, which was organised by Mrs Young enabled our year 7 and 8 students, as well as local primary school children, to learn about various complex scientific concepts in a fun and active way. I wish to publicly thank Mrs Young for the hard work in organising this experience. Yesterday, I welcomed back Chiara Beeby who gained four A levels (A*, A and two grade C's). Chiara was back in school to kindly hand over three paintings based on the year 11 Graduation Day. Chiara is now studying for a foundation degree and we wish her every success as she has the artistic talent to go very far. I am delighted to receive the paintings and I will take pride in placing them around the school in prominent positions to show off her amazing talent. There have been requests for advance notice of any revision or booster sessions over this forthcoming half term. I am pleased to share that the following subjects have scheduled booster sessions on the following days:
Finally, I wish to further remind you all that we close early on Wednesday 4 October at 1.35pm to prepare for the Prospective Parents Evening. The canteen will have a normal service at break 1, however, there will only be sandwiches and other light snacks available at break 2 (1.35-2.10pm). Best wishes Bryan Erwin This weeks Letters Home
e-Safety Reminder
Children love to use technology and from a younger and younger age are learning to navigate websites, online games, consoles and touch screen technology such as iPads and smartphones.
We’ve produced a short guide to help you keep your child safe whilst they use these new technologies. This is included in the letters home section of this newsletter (above). Mr Swift Early Closure - Lunch Arrangements
Due to early closure of the School on the 4 October, free school meals (for those eligible) will be available at the first break of the day, 11:05am.
Art Master Pieces
I had the pleasure of seeing and being part of the grand revealing and presentation to Mr. Erwin of these 3 wonderful paintings made by Chiara Beeby, a previous Y13 KSCS Art student.
Chiara was given the brief to depict the feeling of celebration within our school and I really believe Chiara captured this and the essence of being part of the KSCS family. Chiara has just started an Art Foundation at Stamford New College. We wish her the very best of luck and look forward to seeing many more master pieces from her. Mr Housley Attendance

This week congratulations go to Aspire as they have increased their lead. Attendance has dropped for the other Houses. You can help your House's attendance to improve by coming in on time, limiting your absence (as far as is possible) and making any medical appointments out of school hours. What's happening at KSCS?
